EDUCATION IN VIETNAM According to UNESCO Institute for Statistics on April 2007, Vietnam got a literacy rate of 90.3. Before, the country has a poor literacy rate but after revamping the educational system literacy rate soars high. Its educational system is categorized into five the pre-primary, primary, intermediate, secondary and higher education. As early as 18 months, Vietnamese children are already admitted to school to learn basic education like alphabet or simple mathematics. As Vietnam flourishes its way towards a competitive-oriented economy, educational system becomes a significant factor for future economic growth. Moreover, with the rapid modernization of the world, Vietnamese are beginning to learn English since it is one of the most spoken languages in the world. In fact, there have been numerous English language centers grew rapidly in larger cities. The country maybe less developed but its high literacy percentage of over 90% produced over a thousand graduates obtaining higher education in different fields. |
